Tripp Trapp chair in the forest
Tripp Trapp® - Made in Europe since 1972
You know that Tripp Trapp® is an icon, but did you know it’s made in Europe – and it always has been.
Tripp Trapp® is made in Europe, close to the vast forests where beech and oak have grown abundantly for centuries.

Made in Europe. Made with quality.

Tripp Trapp® is made primarily of European beech and oak woods, some of the best of which is found in central Europe. These forests are known for the quality and quantity of these prized resources. The wood selected for the Tripp Trapp® chair gives it a natural feel, with a beautiful grain that gives each chair a one of a kind look that becomes more attractive over time. This is of the utmost importance for Tripp Trapp® as it is a premium designer chair intended to have longevity.

You’re not just buying an iconic design chair, you’re bringing a piece of nature home with you!

Keeping close tabs during every part of the process

For suppliers to be approved as a Stokke partner, they are required to be in compliance with strict forestry and wood trading regulations.  Once our suppliers have passed our selection process, we develop and maintain close relationships with them. Our presence helps make certain the manufacturing of the Tripp Trapp® chair is spot-on. Not only does this ensure quality, it ensures better oversight of the whole value chain.   We actively supervise every aspect of raw material development, production and distribution, not just for Tripp Trapp®, but for all our products. Every supplier, business partner, and member of our value chain co-sign a code of conduct agreement outlining our joint responsibilities, to ensure proper working conditions, compensations, and production methods.

Long favored by craftsmen for its strength, durability and flexibility, both beech and oak are natural choices for making long lasting furniture.

Tripp Trapp® is an ingenious, iconic chair that can be used for a lifetime. It was a gamechanger when it was invented by Peter Opsvik in 1972. Generations of children have grown up in a Tripp Trapp® chair and it’s as relevant today as it was then.

It’s genuinely a heritage product.
